Craving Summer.

So its been over 2 months since I've blogged but who is counting. I've been really busy with school this semester since I have a heavier course load than usual, and it seems like we've have had someone staying at our house every weekend this entire spring season which basically equals getting nothing done friday-sunday. But I must say we've had some pretty fun weekends nonetheless.

One of my favorite weekends so far was the annual LA girls trip sans Danny this year :( because she was picking up her little minion Kavik so we decided to make it a quicker trip than usual since its just not the same without her. We missed her tooonnns but that didn't stop Big Martha and I from eating and shopping our little hearts out! Friday was our first and only full day there and it was a blast...we hit up Neims and I got surprised with the best birthday present from my parents ever! They gifted me the Stella McCartney Baby Bella bag I've been craving for like 2 years now....swoon. I'm totally in love: it matches everything, fits everything, and is such a comfortable bag. love love love. After a day full of activities we had a cup of coffee and sticky english toffee (I die.) at Villa Blanca and saw Ken from RHOB but NO Jiggie...I was so dissapointed and it made me wonder if he only carries that dog around 24/7 for the show and not in real life. Ken was wearing pink though so I can for sure say he doesn't fake loving the color. Scheana from Vanderpump Rules was waiting tables while we were at Villa Blanca and I must say she looks like just as cray in real life as she does on tv. not shocking. That night we met up with JR at Pizza Mozza (more eating) for some good stories and great company! We always have a blast with him and he is a master at spotting celebs...he spotted Josh Hartnett who was sitting two tables down from us. On his way out of the restaurant he bumped into my purse hanging off of my chair and sweetly apologized while I just looked back at him like a deer in the headlights and mumbled something back because all I could think about was how cute he was in Pearl Harbor and how he has fallen off the face of the earth since then. Saturday we hit up The Grove. It's a lovely outside shopping center thats even lovlier to peruse in gorgeous California weather. We did major damage in a short amount of time but given the beautiful weather outside we were inspired to stock up for spring and summer (at least thats what we told my dad).

Kavik on his first night home. I'd say he looks pretty happy...

Do you spot Josh Hartnett? He is wearing black rimmed glasses on the other side of the man sitting next to my mom!

Welcome to my closet.

VS PJs. Out with the flannel in with the cool silk.

Panama hat. Summer and travel must.

Ok so I didn't get these in LA, I actually got them at Target during the Prabal Gurung for Target madness and I'm totally loving them except for the fact that the strap on the actual shoe is not like the one in the picture. Its cute but not practical so I'm taking them to Deno's to figure out a solution.         Deno's can fix anything.
I feel like Coco Chanel would approve of this lady like pink tweed jacket. Obsessed.

After The Grove we headed to The Ivy for lunch before heading to the airport. The Ivy is the epitome of relaxed California living and it rocks, plus everything on the menu has lobster in it so naturally it's on my list of top 5 favorite restaurants. Totally not overrated and totally worth it. I was so full when we were done with lunch that I didn't get the usual slice of heavenly red velvet cake even though Big Martha insisted I take it to go...I regretted it the second I got hungry again so I guess I'll have to wait until next year. We flew Virgin America for the first time and I must say I do recommend it...Richard Branson knows whats up. It was like a night club in the sky, and was really entertaining which came in handy when we were stuck on the runway for 2 hours on our way back due to bad weather in Dallas. boo.
                       Love me some Big Martha.

                                 Bubbles.

My favorite weekend of all has to have been this past weekend though...especially my birthday! I had such a blast bowling with everyone on my birthday and I enjoyed not being "under the weather" from hoodrat activities for once! I felt so blessed to be surrounded by such sweet friends and to feel all the love from my family and friends not near through text messages and phone calls. I love birthdays because they are a reminder of all the love and support in your life and thats just amaze. I also love birthdays because of all the birthday month discounts offered! Kendra Scott does 50% off so I obvi got myself a little goodie, We Only Wax does 20% off so I got my brows waxed since they were looking a little frightining, Drybar does a free floater...surprise I also went to get a blowout, and Anthropologie does a birthday discount which is the perfect opportunity to stock up on everyone's favorite anthro candle! I'm sure there are a million other places that offer birthday discounts that everyone should take advantage of during their birthday month...celebrate and be celebrated!

Kicking 25 off with a spark!

So festive. Perfect for Baylor and St. Patrick's Day.

I'm officially in the mood for summer and craving it daily. Lucas is convinced that if he wears shorts everyday its going to be hott...he literally was trying to get me to go to the pool with him in 60 degree weather. sorry babe but i was thinking more like 80 degree weather as ideal pool weather. I wish the Dallas weather would stop being bipolar and decide for it to be hott already. I got myself a new swimsuit and floppy hat with a birthday gift card so this girl is ready to get some vitamin D. asap. I tried laying out in our backyard last Friday during "spring break" (totally not as fun as undergrad at all), but since we found a little garden snake in the back yard recently I kept thinking a snake was going to slither up next to me, and Bo was literally hovering over me blocking the rays. epic fail. thanks kate somerville tanning wipes for giving me my faux glow once again...hopefully I wont be needing them much longer. Im really looking forward to spending Easter in Austin with my family, and I'm already planning on lounging by the pool at the Four Seasons with a cocktail in hand. bliss. I hope everyone is as excited and prepared for warm weather as I am...Happy Summer Dreaming! xoxo

I'm going to rock the one piece this year. The cute girl from The Pink Peonies blog rocks it and I'm obsessed with her blog so that is that.

Have to protect our lovely little faces from sun damage!
